The McAuliffe Project

Over the next three years, it is hoped to build the most extensive resource for McAuliffe families worldwide, using their own stories, family trees and historical data. It hoped to launch the project at a McAuliffe Heritage Day at the Culturlann, Newmarket on 11th and 12th April 2026 and the next Gathering due in the summer of 2028.

The project will include researching for:
The McAuliffe Database
During the research for the book The McAuliffe Story, around thirty family groups shared their family ancestral trees, this enabled us to compile a database of nearly five hundred records. Many of these records matched, and we were able to connect clan members worldwide. Imagine if that number were doubled, trebled, or even more.
Historical Database
The McAuliffe Story contains unique records of emigration, the ships involved, the countries they left their passengers to find new lives. Their are also unique registers of births and marriages in parts of the region of Duhallow. Again, this could be expanded into the first choice for McAuliffe's to find information about their clan.
